Hi, my name is Keagan Felker. I'm a freshman at Animas High school. This is my very first year at Animas. I hope I stay here until I'm a senior. Animas is a way better school for me than DHS because there's a closer bond between teachers and students. We can always talk with a teacher if we ever have a problem or have troubles in any class or even outside of school, which I like because I know that we can all trust each other. No matter what the problem may be, I always know I have someone to talk to. I recently created an art piece that was accepted by the Durango Public Arts Commission. The picture above was taken behind the Durango Public Library on the afternoon of the unveiling of my sculpture; "Desert Water Tower", a five foot tall saguaro cactus that I welded out of rebar. My friends, teachers, and most of all, my family support me in my artistic abilities, which encourage me to continue with my art.
