Algebra 1
I'm currently taking 1st period algebra 1 with Jennifer Snead. At the beginning of the year, we covered solving equations, and multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction of fractions. Next, we went over linear equations and graphing/plotting points. While learning trigonometry, we learned about right triangles. While learning about right triangles, we learned SOH CAH TOA, which is a method for solving right triangles. SOH is sign of an angle, CAH is cosign of an angle, and TOA is tangent of an angle. For example, SOH could be: x(sin55)=7, which means that the angle adjacent to the right angle is 55 degrees, and the leg of the triangle opposite of the hypotenuse measures 7. X is the opposite leg that you're trying to solve for.
